FrameItOrDidntHappen turns a route you're proud of into a poster worth framing. It starts from a Strava activity, a GPX file, or a race. I'm Rodrigo, and I run the whole operation from Rotterdam, the design and the code, and every order that goes out. Designing one is free. You pay only when you want the file or a print.

Why it exists

I'm a software engineer, mostly on Android apps. I started running properly in October 2023, the year of my first half marathon, and I've kept at it since. A few marathons in, I'm not planning to stop.

After the 2026 Rotterdam Marathon I wanted a print of the route, and nothing I could find was quite what I wanted. So I started building my own, with full control over how the map and the route looked. Somewhere along the way it stopped being just for me. It turned into something I thought other people might want as well.

The map is drawn properly, not stamped from a template, with real cartography, a typography system, and control over the colours, the stats and the layout until the poster is the one you want. The same route comes out looking completely different from one style to the next.

How your poster is made

Every poster is printed to order, sent to me, and checked by hand before it ships. I look at the colour, the sharpness, and that the paper matches what you designed on screen. From there it goes out by PostNL across the Netherlands and the European Union.

If a print arrives damaged or faulty, send me a photo and I'll reprint or refund it. One person reads that inbox.
